ABOUT
OUR PHILOSOPHY
At Synapse NeuroAnalytics, we believe that high-quality neuroimaging research requires more than technical expertise, it demands collaboration, transparency, and education.

Founded by Dr. Androu Abdalmalak, a scientist with deep experience in functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), our company was created to bridge the gap between complex data and meaningful discovery. We specialize in rigorous, customized fNIRS data analysis while prioritizing education, so our clients not only receive clear results, they also gain the skills to understand and build on them.

As fNIRS becomes more accessible and widely adopted across disciplines, we envision a future where data analysis is not a black box, but a shared language, one that connects researchers, clinicians, and innovators.
OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES
PARTNERSHIP
We see ourselves as collaborators, not just consultants. We meet you where you are, adapting our approach to your research goals and level of expertise.
CLARITY
We demystify the analysis process by delivering transparent results and sharing the preprocessing pipeline and any applicable code through dedicated GitHub repositories.
CAPACITY BUILDING
Whether through one-on-one consulting or long-term project collaboration, we equip researchers with the tools to grow independently.

OUR TEAM
Meet the dedicated professionals behind Synapse NeuroAnalytics
Hi! I'm Androu, a scientist, data analyst, and the person behind Synapse NeuroAnalytics. I’ve spent the past 10+ years working in cognitive neuroscience and brain imaging, with a special focus on functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS). After analyzing countless datasets, mentoring students, and collaborating on multidisciplinary research, I saw a clear need: researchers needed more than just results, they needed support, clarity, and education around their data.

That’s why I started Synapse NeuroAnalytics: to help researchers untangle complex fNIRS data with rigorous analysis, transparency, and training. I’m passionate about making data meaningful and making the process collaborative. Whether you’re designing a new study, publishing a pilot, or diving into functional connectivity, I’ll meet you where you’re at and help you move forward with confidence.

When I’m not immersed in data, you’ll probably find me training dogs, running, or just enjoying time outdoors. I believe in balance, curiosity, and empowering others, and I bring that mindset to every project I take on.

Let’s work together to illuminate your research.
Leena is an integrative physiologist specializing in cerebrovascular control and the physiological factors that shape brain function. With a PhD and six years of postdoctoral training, she brings expertise in combining transcranial Doppler ultrasound, systemic physiology, and depth-enhanced optical monitoring to study cerebral blood flow dynamics across a range of populations — including women, athletes, older adults, and clinical groups.

Her research has pioneered innovative approaches to measuring cerebrovascular function and designing complex experimental protocols. She is passionate about empowering collaborators to collect rigorous, high-quality data and making complex physiological information accessible and meaningful to diverse research teams.

At Synapse NeuroAnalytics, Leena works closely with clients from the earliest stages of study design - ensuring experiments are physiologically informed and methodologically sound - through to advanced statistical analysis and interpretation. She is particularly committed to improving methodological standards and supporting impactful, hypothesis-driven research.

Outside of science, Leena enjoys spending time with her family and rescue dog Toby, exercising, traveling, and sipping on coffee with friends.
